How to find a good man!

Finding ‘Mr Right’ isn’t always easy. Sometimes it seems that for every good man out there, two dozen don’t make the cut.

Dating coaches, relationship experts and others have plenty to say on the issue. Magazines and dating websites offer advice also. For example, eHarmony says his maturity level, life stage and direction in life are the most important things to look at. Match.com says the focus should be on how he treats you, whether he listens to you, and “how often he makes himself available to you, both physically and emotionally”. While every woman has her own idea about what makes a ‘good man’, there are certainly some universal qualities that are worth looking out for. But how do you find a good man?

In some ways, it may depend on what you would like to have in common with ‘Mr Right’. If you’d prefer to date someone with a similar career or with similiar interests to your own, then be sure to spend plenty of time socialising with colleagues, attending industry events etc. If you’re into health and fitness, and want to meet a like-minded man, don’t hide out at Curves or Fernwood. Join a social club, broaden your group of friends and find ways to engage more with people in everyday life. -‘Mr Right’ may present himself when you least expect it!

While eHarmony, Match.com, RSVP and others provide one avenue of finding a good man, the best relationships are invariably organic in their conception. Ultimately, moreover, your ability to find a good man may depend largely on your ability to be a good woman; work on the things that need working on, grow in confidence, find contentment and a good man will find you!
